The Giants Community Fund, in partnership with the San Francisco Recreation & Parks Department, is pleased to host the 2nd Annual Baseball & Softball Academy! This 8-week program is FREE for all families. Head Coaches and Umpires will be paid by the Giants Community Fund.

This program is for players with previous baseball or softball experience, going into Middle School (6th, 7th, and 8th) or High School in the fall, with a desire to try out for their school’s team next season - or they would have that desire if their school had a team.

Beginning the week of September 14th, each team will have one 30 minute long practice prior to one 90 minute Saturday game. Coaches/Parents can register for whichever division they like. All games will be at Crocker-Amazon. Pitchers/Catchers may be asked to move teams, to create as much balance as possible, with respect to the number/quality of pitchers and catchers on each team.  Once all registrations are in, we'll assign players to their respective teams (names after Giants & Softball Legends)  based on the information you provide and set the schedule.  Those on the Waitlist will be Free Agents, and asked to join any teams with a need for additional players.

Equipment will be provided for those in need, SFUSD/CIF rules will be taught/enforced, scores and standings will be kept. In addition, the Giants will send a series of guest speakers from within their organization and MLB to address the players, coaches, and families about the business and sport of baseball…and life.
