The Giants Community Fund, in partnership with the San Francisco Recreation & Parks Department, is pleased to host the 2nd Annual Baseball & Softball Academy! This 8-week program is FREE for all families. Head Coaches and Umpires will be paid by the Giants Community Fund.

This program is for players with previous baseball or softball experience, going into Middle School (6th, 7th, and 8th) or High School in the fall, with a desire to try out for their school’s team next season - or they would have that desire if their school had a team.

Beginning the week of June 10th, each team will have one (1) hour long practice per week and one Saturday game. Coaches/Parents can register for whichever division they like. On June 1st, we’ll hold a clinic/evaluation for Pitchers and Catchers at Crocker-Amazon. Teams are based off practice locations, in which you will chose during the registration process. All games will be at Balboa Diamonds near the corner of San Jose and Ocean. No practices or games during the week of July 1st. Pitchers/Catchers may be asked to move teams, to create as much balance as possible, with respect to the number/quality of pitchers and catchers on each team. Preliminary Team Options can be found here:

Equipment will be provided for those in need, SFUSD/CIF rules will be taught/enforced, scores and standings will be kept, and Division Champions will be crowned. In addition, the Giants will send a series of guest speakers from within their organization to address the players, coaches, and families about the business and sport of baseball…and life.
